Invitation

Dear members of the Tourism Sciences Society of Korea and distinguished guests from Korea and abroad, welcome.
A heartfelt welcome to all of you who have joined us for the 100th TOSOK Seoul International Conference, a historic milestone in the study of tourism in Korea.
This year, our society finally marks its 100th academic conference. It is a deeply meaningful moment that symbolizes the scholarly achievements and passion accumulated over the years. In particular, the fact that this conference is being held at The Westin Josun Seoul, a venue that has been part of the birth of Korea's tourism industry, adds even greater historical significance.
This conference unfolds under the theme, “The New 100 Years of Tourism: Sustainability, Innovation, and the Future of Connection.” In particular, this event goes beyond an academic forum and is linked with 'Global Week in Seoul,' bringing a wide range of programs and events across the city. Taking place at major landmarks throughout Seoul, this global event will become an integrated arena of exchange where academic insight and practical experience come together organically.
In addition, the '2026 Seoul International Tourism Forum,' held during the conference period, will offer in-depth discussion on the role and future vision of Seoul as a global tourism city. Through this, we hope to explore a new tourism paradigm grounded in sustainability and innovation amid a rapidly changing environment.
Today, the tourism industry is evolving beyond simple movement and consumption into a complex field where technology, data, and human experience converge. At a time of such change, close collaboration among academia, industry, and public institutions is more important than ever. We hope the rich research outcomes and substantive discussions shared at this conference will provide a strong foundation for enhancing the global competitiveness of our tourism industry.
Finally, I extend my deep gratitude to the organizing committee and all related officials who have dedicated themselves to the successful hosting of this conference, as well as to the speakers who prepared outstanding research and presentations. Above all, the passion of our members, who have taken the time to join us here, will make this 100th conference shine even brighter.
At the beginning of a new 100 years, I hope to take the first exciting step of that journey together with you here in Seoul.
Thank you.
